Levitating Lantern

This was one of my kids favorites. We still use it in there room. 

This project was so fun! Not too easy, not too hard, and now it has a place on our mantle. Lovely. 

The "levitation" element really blew our minds.  My nine year old and I giggled as we built this and watched the magic come alive. 

Pretty interesting but a little wobby, hard to make the ballance.

I bought this for both my 10 year old and 16 year old.  They both enjoyed putting their project together.  My 10 year old was able to do it by herself and my 16 year old found it satisfying to occupy a little bit of time.  

Got this and really like it. Had my doubts. Works well as a bedside night light for the little ones.  That was its intended use.  No the lil ones didn’t build it. But, if they did I would of been a two person job.  Not difficulty wise, but how it all gets assembled.

This project was a great first introduction to electronics for my little one, and an amazing example of physics & engineering. Even adults can be wowed by this assembled kit. Based on experience with our kiwi projects, this one required the least adult intervention & assistance. The only flaw which really affected our end build was the spacer rings all fit inside the wooden windows *with the exception of the one by the switch* due to the proximity of the switch base to the corner, so we had to put both spacers on the bottom for all four in order to achieve the best tension for stability. Otherwise this project was one of our fastest, most child independent builds and had a huge wow factor in the end. 

I loved the levitating lamp ,my son ryker loves it to.we enjoy every project we get every month. 

I really love the look of this lantern one! But the ring for the strings get in the way of the side panels. Especially on 1 corner for it is too close to the switch button. We had to use a car keep to shove the ring inside so that the panels would lock in to the the top lid on... Other wise it is a very fun crate that both kids are very proud of! 

It was pretty amazing to watch my 19 year old daughter take charge in this project. The instructions are easy for older kids but requires a bit more attention to detail for those younger and more inclined to just “wing it”. This is a good thing.I make her lay everything out ahead of time which is always a good habit for them to learn. 

We’re about to tackle her fourth kit and she just can’t wait.

Kiddo was super excited seeing an extra Kiwi Crate for his birthday and had a blast putting it together with his dad. He couldn’t wait to show it to me when I got home from work.
