Behind the design

“In an earlier version of this lab set, kids poured the water into the pipes. But it was tricky for them to focus on how the water traveled through the pipes because they were concentrating so much on pouring. So our designers created push-button pumps to move the water instead. When we tested the new design, we knew it was a hit – the kids were totally pumped!”
